Point O' Woods Golf & Country Club is a private, member owned club featuring an award winning championship golf course.

Since its inception in 1958 The Point has always been and continues to be ranked in the top 1% in the country by Golf Digest. The Point provides a challenging but fair test to players of all caliber and was the long time host of the prestigious Western Amateur championship for 40 years with the event returning in 2019. Many of golf's greatest players and legends have walked the hallowed grounds of Point O' Woods.

Michigan’s Top Golf Course

For 39 years the Point has been ranked one of the top 100 golf courses in the country. Perfectly manicured grounds allowed the Point and the Western Amateur to be referred to as the "Master's of Amateur Golf". The Point O' Woods Golf Shop offers premier merchandise from the top names in golf. Our professional staff is here to assist with all of your golf related needs.  Point O' Woods Members can sign-up for our Buy-In Program that offers shop-wide and special order discounts on equipment, golf balls, apparel and accessories.  


The Point O’ Woods Caddie Program


Point O’ Woods Caddie Training     All interested caddies must complete three separate levels of training to become a Point O’ Woods caddie. All caddies must complete Level 1 training first, then will be eligible for signing up for Level 2 training. Once Level 2 has been complete, the final level is a “shadow / validation loop” with either one of the Professional staff or with a current honor caddie. Only those who have passed Level 2 training will be allowed to move forward to the “shadow / validation loop.” Once the final level is completed you will be an official Point O’ Woods caddie.   Sign up in advance is mandatory as space is limited for each training session. To sign up for a specific training date, please email Head Golf Professional Matt Flaherty at mflaherty@pointowoods.com. Reminder all training will take place outside so please dress accordingly, no denim.       

Level 1 Training Dates:  
Saturday April 20th                             2:00 – 3:30
Saturday May 4th                                2:00 – 3:30
Wednesday, May 8th                           4:00 – 5:30
Saturday May 11th                              2:00 – 3:30    

Level 2 Training Dates:   ***Must have completed Level 1 training to sign up for this level***                                    
Will need to complete a written test on this day following training.  
Sunday April 21st                                2:00 – 4:00
Sunday May 5th                                  2:00 – 4:00
Wednesday May 15th                          4:00 – 6:00
Thursday May 16th                             4:00 – 6:00    

Level 3 Training Dates:  
Scheduled on individual basis once Level 1 and Level 2 training have been completed.
